Lessons From the Garden

I've got to be honest with you. Last week was a rough one for me. Lots going on around me, in my head, etc. Some of the most peaceful moments I had were when I was tending to my friends' garden while they were on vacation.
It was HOT! But while I picked this wonderful produce, with sweat dripping off of me, I was thankful for God's blessings. I have never had a garden of my own. This is my friends' first garden and they have done an amazing job. God has done an even more amazing job!

I would love to say that I have some profound thoughts on all of this. I really don't. However, a few days ago I read this beautiful post and wanted to share it with you. So, please go have a seat at Jo's Kitchen Table and enjoy her words of wisdom.

{The LORD will always guide you and provide good things to eat when you are in the desert. He will make you healthy. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water or like a stream that never runs dry. Is. 58:11}

I don't have a green thumb! Wish I did. Love the pictures. It brought back memories of my parent's farm. They both were blessed with the ability to grow amazing things. Hope you have a peaceful week.

Oh Vanessa, you would love a garden! It's so therapeutic and is the closest times to God. If you don't have room or time just plant an herb garden in a fabulous huge old junky pot right outside your door. I don't have one this year and really miss it. It's such an experience to touch and smell the herbs--(and taste!) Who cares if you don't use them in the kitchen?! You can cut them and dry them just to hang in your kitchen. (Sorry if you weren't looking for advice!) That was a beautiful post at Jo's table.

Vanessa,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I am back in school. My students will be here on Wednesday. SOOOO......I am running around like a wild woman trying to get ready. I hope I can keep up the blogging once school gets going. Just wanted to thank you for visiting and let you know that you, your family, and especially your precious little girl have a permanent place in the list of friends that I carry to the Father! Have a good week.

Hi, I just tried to leave a comment but think I lost it all...so forgive me if I'm repeating myself. I just found your blog tonight from a link on Notes from a Cottage Industry. I love your vintage style...I have almost identical stuff in my house and stash. I'm a former antique dealer afflicted with the incurable "vintage junk" bug.
I also relate to your husband's job situation...same thing happened to us last summer. The Lord gave him a new job, in a new location, closer to family and even though it has had its trying times we have been so blessed. Now my oldest son is going through the same thing.
Most of all I want to tell you that I am so touched by the Bible verses with each post that really remind me how very interested God is in every facet of our lives. He is so good! You've blessed me today.
