For the love of jars...

I love jars. As I am about to show you, I use them for many things. Not only are they useful, but I think they are beautiful. I never use a real vase. I always put flowers in a jar. My favorite is daisies in a blue Mason jar. It is a simple country look.
This square jar with the scuffed red lid holds my rice in the kitchen.
This one holds my collection of cookie cutters.
A peek inside my craft cabinet reveals jars with ribbon, lace and buttons.
Some Scrabble letters in an old coffee jar.
This is one of my favorite jar displays in my home right now.
Little bobbins of thread are nice and cozy in this jar in my bedroom.

A different kind of jar - a bell jar. These have become quite popular in decorating. I was excited to find this little one at the thrift store the other day. I need to find a special little something to put underneath it.

Now for the boring stuff. We made it through the first week of having Hubby down at his new job. It wasn't fun. I had sick kids. We had a crazy wind storm. It was the first week of having the house on the market. We are now starting the second week. I'm tired already. I don't like this "single parent" thing. We have to sell the house here and find something to buy down there. It could take awhile here because the market is pretty saturated. It could take a while there because the market isn't saturated - not much for sale at all.

I really want to keep my kids in school here for the rest of the year. That is a long time. My boys will adjust to a new school. My Sweet Girl has "special needs." She has a 1:1 aide at school. Our school has been wonderful with her. You can't just walk into a new school and enroll a child like Sweet Girl. It takes a lot of preparation, IEP meetings, possible hiring of new staff. It is complicated. I'm not ready for that again. I'm not ready to hand my Sweet Girl over to complete strangers. I don't know what to do.

Sorry. I didn't realize how "down" I was until I started typing. Didn't mean to drag ya'll into it. I'll sign off for now. Time to get the kiddos some supper.

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." 2 Cor. 4:7

Hi Vanessa,
Your jars are beautiful filled with such a grea variety! I love the bell jar you found, lucky you!

I hope your home there sells quickly, and if not, I hope you have the strength for all you have to do now as a single parent. Just remember, this is not permanent arrangement. Think of your Sweet Girl in God's hands, like she's in a very special glass jar and when you move He will gently take care of her, fragile as she is, He has the strenght to move her to a new place, and be there right beside her. Pray ahead now for those who will be with her in the new school. Pray now for those people and that they would be blessed when a special girl comes into their lives.

Jars are wonderful things to hold all of the things in our life. Just remember that a loving God holds each one of us in the palm of his hand. Including Sweet Girl. We love you!
